- Biography -

After a life-long love affair with watercolor, I have changed my medium of choice to acrylic. Painting with fresh subject matter and palette knife has created artwork that is exciting, thought provoking and powerful with a bit of whimsy.

Along with the present medium of acrylic, I wanted a name that fit my recent painting style. All new work is signed, “Kanojo,” which is my nickname that I have adopted as a visual artist name.

My studio is in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle Washington.

- Artist Statement -

Being a Visual Artist / Designer is my lifelong work and love. I also make short films with my art set to music on YouTube.

Paintings come into existence from a jar, a brush, and a magical essence that we all possess when we create any form of art. My paintings, at some point take on a life of their own, creating an original painting that did not exist before. The creativity of making something out of nothing, like all artists must feel, is quite thrilling.

Highlighting feeling in my paintings brings out the effect I intend. I paint with intrigue in mind, creating an atypical atmosphere in my work. Approaches and materials best remembered from childhood give my paintings an avant-garde spontaneity.
